FAQ

Here are some of the most common questions people have had when booking comedians.

Why use a comedian?

If you’re tired of, literally, the same old song & dance. Hey, we’ve all been to so many Indian/Desi parties weekend after weekend for our entire lives that it’s cool to mix it up with something different. Songs & dances are still great – a comedian can simply supplement this form of entertainment and give your audiences something different. Indian/Desi crowds in particular love the interaction a comedian can provide.

What types of events do you cover?

Anything you want. The most common requests are for:

  • - Affinity/Diversity Groups at Corporations
  • - Conference/Annual Meetings/Conventions
  • - Private Parties like Anniversaries, Graduations, Birthdays – Any Special Occasion

Can I count on a comedian to keep it clean enough for my event?

Yes. Our focus is delivering good, CLEAN fun for your event.  You likely have all ages attending. If you are looking for a more dirty/adult show, we can provide this as well, but rest assured that if you need a clean show, you will absolutely get one.

What services does a comedian provide?

Comedians can perform their standard sets, often customizing their material and personalizing it for your event. Or they can serve as Master of Ceremonies (MC) of your event.

How would you recommend we structure the evening?

This really depends on one major factor: Is the comedian the primary focus of your event? If so, then we recommend having the comedian “headline” the event, i.e., be the last (or only) piece of entertainment for the evening. The other scenario is that the comedian is an addition to the evening. Oftentimes, you already have an anniversary party planned. You’re looking to add a comedian to make the night more special. In that case, it’s generally much better to have the comedian do his act upfront and then become Master of Ceremonies (MC) for the rest of the event. However, we realize this is YOUR event. We are happy to flex to any needs you may have.

How long should the act be?

It all depends. Usually, 15 minutes if the comedian is performing first on the bill and/or MCing the event. And 30 – 60 minutes if the comedian is headlining (closing) the event. Our comedians have gone as along as 75 minutes – it all depends on the crowd. We can guarantee a certain minimum number of minutes if that’s what you’d like.

How much does a comedian cost?

Ah, everyone’s favorite topic – money. This is a tough question to answer because it’s like asking how much a music group would cost. Do you want the local garage band or U2? Generally speaking, comedians are expensive, simply due to supply and demand. There are Indian/Desi functions and parties every weekend and only about 10 Indian comedians/Desi comedians who can do this. You can usually expect to pay a flat fee for the performance and then cover expenses such as air and hotel accommodations. If you’re looking for a range, we’ve seen as low as $250 and as high as $10,000. Please fill out a booking form for specifics – we’re more than happy to discuss further.

Do you book Russell Peters?

No. We know him well and talk to him often, but he has several agents and managers who handle his booking. We recommend you visit his website and consult this page specifically for booking.

Where is your roster of Indian comedians/Desi comedians?

This is coming soon. However, we’re realistic (and humble) enough to realize that we’re small – the best comedians already have agency representation. We’re looking to fill a niche need – and many comedians have multiple agents and still find freelance work. So, for now, our process is that we take your request, determine the best fit, reach an agreement with you, place the right phone calls based on our years of experience and network, and deliver the comedian for your event.

Do you only book Indian comedians/Desi comedians?

This is the only niche in which we guarantee we can deliver. But try us – we can likely link you in with the appropriate party. We have relationships with Hindu, Muslim, and Christian comedians.
